Every Word

I wrote this because I want to be intentional about being slow to speak and quick to listen. That can be hard to do. God is awesome!

Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. James 1:19

Father I pray that
Every word I speak
Be sweet like honey 
To those in need

I pray that I do not
Say an unkind word
To any person
On this earth

I pray I listen
More than I speak 
And reflect You God
Even when I am weak

I pray I’m quiet
So others have a chance
To tell their stories
Of You and their deliverance
