As I think back over this last year and the initial cancer diagnosis, God gave me this poem. Reading and hearing so much about other people’s cancer journeys makes my heart ache for them. I know the shock and fear that runs through every fiber in your body. I pray this poem will somehow give you comfort. God is the Great Physician and He is more powerful than cancer!
Be strong in the Lord!
No weapon forged against you will prevail. Isaiah 54:17
I heard the word cancer
And it scared me to the core
It took my breath away
And left me on the floor
Suddenly I realized
My life is going to be different
I was not sure how it would change
But I knew it would be significant
The news settled in my mind
And I decided at that moment
That I will fight this with God
And I know He will never relent
