I wrote this after seeing the wound from the Whipple on my stomach. The surgery had taken nine hours. The incision was from my breast bone to below my navel. Now every time I look at that scar, I am so thankful for waking up each day!
They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:23
It's my battle scar
And I wear it proudly
From under my breast
To navel, it scarred me
This scar is a reminder
Of how fragile is life
To not take for granted
And leave all the strife
In a blink of an eye
This life that I know
Can be taken from me
In one single blow
So I'll live my life well
And love all I can
The ones who are dear
And I'll stay with God's plan
